Lohifushi is located on the east reef on North Male Atoll, Lohifushi is little more than an hour's journey by "dhoni" from Male Airport. offers its guests an escape into a world of sun-drenched sandy beaches, crystal clear seas and underwater treasures in a housereef that teems with colourful marine life. The resort has 130 individual seafacing bungalows, all with ceiling fans and mini bars (a supplement is payable for air-conditioning).
The traditional open-air bathrooms feature hot and cold showers.

Lohifushi offers rooms for every taste, standard and budget. Standard, Superior, Deluxe rooms and Suites are all situated as close as possible to the beach and have hot and cold water and IDD telephones.
Air- conditioning and mini bars are additional facilities offered by all but the Standard rooms. The coffee- and tea- making facilities in the Superior, Deluxe rooms and Suites, the satellite television and the Maldivian style open- air bathroom. Make sure you feel completely at ease and at home. A Jacuzzi in the Suites enhances your feeling of relaxation and luxury.
We are very aware of the importance of preserving our beautiful environment and act accordingly. You will be given the chance to contribute to saving energy and thus protecting the environment by re-using towels and bed sheets rather than having them changed daily. A brochure will provide you with detailed information. Beds decorated with flowers and fruit baskets are just two more examples of our thoughtful and special room arrangements. Even though accommodation might vary, our services are of the same excellent standard for each individual guest.

In Lohifushi there is just too much choice in cuisine to get bored. Start your day with a wholesome breakfast at the Banyan Restaurant picking from our sumptuous buffet offering a variety of pastries and bread, cereals, eggs, fruits, dairy products, meats and Maldivian delicacies. If you would like to have a lie- in and get breakfast or a snack at a later stage you can always rely on the Sunset coffee- shop, which is open 24 hours a day. For lunch and dinner you can choose between the selected four courses set meals at the Banyan restaurant, Italian delicacies at the "O Sole Mio" restaurant and Chinese cuisine at the Dragon corner situated in the Banyan restaurant. We will make sure that dinner is a special occasion for you. Every Sunday we offer a Barbecue at the Haveere Grille, where fresh seafood, a variety of meat and fish is grilled on the spot to your choice in open air. Or why not join a Lobster Party or our popular Steak Night, where you can enjoy steak, prepared to your liking, served with a variety of salads and vegetables with romantic candlelight on the beach. One of the culinary highlights on Lohifushi is the "steamboat". You choose fresh food from the table and prepare it yourself on a mini grill thus making a social event out of dinner. Our weekly program has been carefully designed and is varied and interesting. Monday night is Maldivian Night opening with a Maldivian style buffet in the Banyan restaurant and entertaining you with traditional Maldivian drums, the "Boduberu", and dances. Get into the rhythm of this exotic music and enjoy a taste of Maldivian culture. It's Disco night on Tuesday! Dance to the hot rhythms of brand-new hits in open tropical air. Our popular disc jockey will be eager to play your favorites, so 'get down and move it all around'! Don't miss the fascinating Fire Limbo on the beach on Wednesday! You will be amazed by the breathtaking performance of our experienced limbo dancers. Have you always fancied singing your favorite song in front of an audience? Do the real thing and take part in our Karaoke night in open air or in our cozy lounge on Thursday.
Friday is a holiday in the Maldives. Saturday Night Fever will be brought to you by a popular local band entertaining you with new hits and Maldivian songs. As background or dance music definitely a favorite amongst our guests. Get your popcorn ready for Sunday, when we will invite you into our comfortable TV room for a movie from our wide range. Apart from this weekly program you are free at any time of the day to make use of the Satellite TV room, the Billiard table, the darts, the chessboard and the Karaoke room.

The Banyan Villa is an exclusive enclave just for two persons wishing to be on their own, situated amidst the lush greenery, and the natural beauty of the Lohifushi Island Resort. The Villa is secluded from other activities at the resort with about 127 individual bungalow rooms, catering to the 4-5 star clientele. Less than 10% of the total area of the island is built up and all buildings are below the vegetation height. 
The Banyan Villa is the most exclusive suite in Lohifushi Tourist Resort. The Maldives is one of the best Big Game Fishing grounds - a secret shared by only a few very exclusive fishermen in the world. In Lohifushi you can become one of the few selected , as a professional or amateur.
Captain Rudi Bruns, the owner of "The White Shadow", a 32'x11' long boat with all the modern facilities, is an expert in this sport and your perfect guide. A 245(!)kg blue marlin and a 120 kg yellow fin tuna were amongst some of the most impressive catches made under his guidance.
It is a whole day trip, starting at 6.00 am and returning in the late afternoon with packed lunch on the boat. The Maldives are still an angler's paradise, as they are still virtually untouched and not over fished. The marlin sailfish, tuna, barracuda, wahoo and trivially are just a few of the range. Although the best months are from January to May, the whole year produces excellent catches.

| Island Hopping | |
All islands offer you "island excursions" or "island hopping" trips. This will be to a close-by inhabited island or to an uninhabited island with a picnic style lunch and sometimes great snorkeling. Both are organized in advance and requires a minimum number of persons to sign up. What to see? On an inhabited island you will see a very clear picture of the general Maldivian lifestyle. Walk around and see the simplicity of daily life on an island.
There are few historical sights on these islands. The inhabited islands are also good for shopping. You could buy souvenirs and hand printed T-shirts with good bargains! The island excursion to the uninhabited island will be for those who want to get away from your build up resorts. The islands are normally small islands with a great house reef. Make sure you take plenty of suntan lotion…..

Besides snorkeling and diving a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities are on offer to keep you fit and active on your holiday.
Our fresh water swimming pool is cleaned daily and open from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm. Adjacent to the main pool there is a smaller, shallow children's pool, where your little ones can have fun and you know they are safe.
Fancy a game of tennis or badminton? Our spacious tennis court can be used by day and - floodlit- by night and is situated next to the badminton court. Interested in regular workouts? Gym equipment at the Sports center and our air-conditioned squash court, open from 9.30 to 21.30, will keep you fit.
Our huge football pitch on grass and our volleyball court on the beach are frequented by staff and guests alike and many a friendly guest- staff match have been played
In the Sports center you can choose among a great variety of indoor games, such as table tennis, Snooker, darts, table soccer, chess or the popular Maldivian game Carom.
Water sports are a must in the Maldives and our Water sports center, next to the Sunset coffee shop, is run by qualified and experienced people who offer you Windsurfing, Water-skiing, Canoeing, (Catamaran-) Sailing, Banana riding and much more.
Wave Surfing is the exciting and immensely popular newcomer in Lohifushi and you are likely to meet enthusiastic surfers who have traveled from as far as America to surf in this renown wave.
In Lohifushi you will never get bored, as our varied programs caters for every taste. Organized Excursions give you the chance of experiencing life outside the resort. Island Hopping trips lead you to inhabited islands, where you can get a glimpse of traditional Maldivian life, to uninhabited islands, where you can feel like Robinson Crusoe, and other tourist resorts. If you don't want to venture too far from the resort you can take part in the Sunset Photo trip providing you with breathtaking enviable holiday shots. Experience the buzz ling capital of the Maldives, Male, the center of trade, business, transport, education and entertainment on our Luxury Male Shopping Trip . It also gives you the opportunity to do some souvenir shopping. Leaving the Maldives without having tried your luck in fishing is like leaving Italy without eating any pasta. Join our sunrise/ sunset/ night fishing trips enjoying the starlit sky, being gently cradled by the waves on the traditional dhoni - an experience in itself. Your personal catch will be prepared by our staff and you can proudly have it for dinner. People with higher ambitions have the chance to do Big Game Fishing, the catch of which will be measured by us and recorded on film.
Diving
All resorts and Malé have fully equipped diving bases with standard requirements from the government of Maldives and that of the certifying agencies such as PADI, NAUI, CMAS, SSI, etc. etc. All of them offer courses from beginner to professional levels. Diving is the main reason why many people choose the Maldives as their holiday destination. Most of the natural beauty lies underwater and can only be seen while snorkeling or diving . The type of diving available vary from resort to resort. There are some great dives all over. However, some resorts have difficulty access to wreck diving because of their location. What do you see? Plenty through out the year. Seasonally you see whale sharks and Mantas. The coral and fish life on the reefs are abundant. Visibility on average is about 20 to 30 meters. Water temperature is 28 degrees average. Most diving is done by boat at fixed times. Few resorts offer you unlimited diving on the house-reef. All dive schools have dive masters or instructors on the boats.
What do you need: Everything is available from the dive school. However it is good to bring your own equipment except for the tank and weights which could save you some money. Average price for diving differs from resort to resort. Can be anything from US $ 30.00 and above.
Equipment & Service
With two European, two Japanese, and two Maldivian professional dive master, the dive school can cater for up to 100 divers at any given time. The Staff being multi nationals, they conduct courses in English, Italian, Japanese, Maldivian, American, German, and Swiss.
Lohifushi dive school maintains an array of equipments and spare parts enough for two hundred clients. These include Bauer compressors, K14 and capitano, more than 100-MI Aluminum tanks, scuba-pro jackets and regulator with octopus, SOS Balloon and Aladdin Pro computer, Fins and Masks of all sizes, Under water video and photo camera, and first aid kits
Wind surfing
The large lagoons that surrounds most of the islands are ideal for wind surfing. Lot of resorts have a windsurf school where you could take instructions and lessons and even be certified. Like the dive schools the surf schools are also well equipped. Most of the time the condition is suitable for beginners.
Surfing:
Maldives is a new destination for the surfers. There are a few island resorts on the atoll edge that has good waves for surfing. Click here for more information on surfing.
Snorkeling:
A trip to the Maldives will never be complete without donning a mask and a fins and experiencing the beauty that sustains these tiny islands. Each island offers a beautiful house-reef that you could snorkel everyday. Those resorts with far out reefs will have a boat that will take you to the reef. Mask and Fins can be rented from the dive schools if you need them.
Water Skiing:
Many resorts have their own speed boats and skis for rent on per hour basis. Some even have instructors available to give you lessons. Prices vary form resort to resort.
Fishing:
Most resorts offer you night fishing using the traditional local style fishing line with weights. Big game fishing on fast boats are offered in some resorts. Equipment availability is minimum . It is advisable to bring your rod and lures for big game fishing.
